Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock reunite on ‘Practical Magic 2’ set

Celebratory midnight margaritas are in order!

Practical Magic 2 has begun production, and we have a spellbinding clip of Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock on their first day on set to prove it.

Kidman has shared a video on Instagram from what appears to be a graveyard, where she and her big-screen sister Bullock, both clad in autumnal dresses, warmly embrace before the cameras start rolling.

The duo seem be situated in front of two graves, with Kidman’s arm notably inked up with a snake tattoo. Gillian Owens has returned!

“The witches are back,” Kidman captioned the post. “Owens sisters’ first day on set!”

Kidman and Bullock will reprise their roles as witchy siblings Sally and Gillian Owens, respectively, in the upcoming sequel from director Susanne beeswho most recently worked with Kidman on the miniseries The Perfect Couple and directed Bullock in the 2018 horror flick Bird Box.

Released in 1998, the first Practical Magic centered on the two sisters and a generations-old family curse that has prevented Owens women from ever finding lasting love. Griffin Dunne directed the original feature, an adaptation of the first of Alice Hoffman‘s series of novels.

The upcoming sequel will be a faithful adaptation of Hoffman’s 2021 book, The Book of Magic, Producer Denise of Novi Told Entertainment Weekly last year. “We’re cognizant to how important those characters and that movie are to so many people,” she said. “We’re not going to reinvent the wheel.”
