This New Louis Vuitton Exhibit Takes You on a Luxury-fueled Journey Through Time

Fashion enthusiasts and fans of the famed Louis Vuitton brand can now enjoy a one-of-a-kind journey thanks to a brand-new exhibit in Seoul, South Korea.

The new “Louis Vuitton Visionary Journeys Seoul” exhibit, which opened in the fashion house’s new retail location there, brings guests on a walking tour throughout Louis Vuitton’s past, present, and future, the company shared with Travel + Leisure.

The exhibit leans heavily on the brand’s early beginnings as a trunk maker, spotlighting how travelers have used Louis Vuitton for their own journeys over the decades. The walking tour unfolds over several rooms, winding through immersive experiences that incorporate projection, video, music, and more. Each room is dedicated to a different theme, including the icons room, the watches room, the collaboration room, and the fashion room.

“Spanning three floors, the scenography has been conceived… as a progression through themed rooms that trace Louis Vuitton’s evolution from a visionary trunkmaker to a global House of Culture,” the company wrote in a statement shared with T+L, adding the exhibit is “presented as an immersive narrative devoted to the House’s heritage of travel, craftsmanship, and innovation.”

The tour also features memorabilia and artifacts from the brand’s archives along with plenty of spaces to take Instagram-worthy photos.

The exhibit is free to enter, but visitors are required to reserve their tickets in advance online.

The Visionary Journeys exhibit is just one part of Louis Vuitton’s new Seoul store. The multi-level space is also home to a cafe, an artisan chocolate shop, and a restaurant helmed by Chef Junghyun Park of New York’s two Michelin star-rated Atomix (recently named one of the best restaurants in the world). The store itself is spread across four floors and features an extensive collection of ready-to-wear pieces, leather goods, watches, jewelry, beauty, and fragrance along with a home area complete with furniture and Art of Living pieces.

Louis Vuitton is a brand within the LVMH group, which also includes Celine, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Rimowa, and Loro Piana. LVMH also operates Belmondwhich offers unique hotel and train experiences for luxury travelers around the world.

Beyond Seoulthere are plenty of other destinations catering to high-end luxury shopping experiences. Italy was recently ranked the top country for luxury shopping thanks to iconic luxury brands like Gucci and Prada, a generous tax refund for non-European Union travelers, and a tendency to find lower local prices. That was followed by France and Japan.
