Today anchor and NBC News meteorologist Dylan Dreyer and her husband, Brian Fichera, are splitting up.
Dreyer, who serves as the morning show’s co-anchor in its third hour, announced the news in a statement shared to her Instagram on Friday, in which she revealed that they had officially separated a few months ago.
“For many years, I have shared my family with you all — the highs and lows, the ups and downs, and all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between,” she began her note.
“I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you’ve given me through it all. For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate,” she continued.
According to PEOPLEDreyer, 43, and Fichera, 38, first met while working at a local Boston news station. They wed in 2012 and have three sons together. In Dreyer’s statement, the TV personality said co-parenting their sons would be the former couple’s focus moving forward.
“We began as friends, and we will remain the closest of friends. Most importantly, we will continue to co-parent our three wonderful boys together with nothing but love and respect for one another,” she wrote, before concluding her statement by saying, “Thank you as always for your support.”

As Dreyer alluded to, she has frequently shared memories of her and her family’s life on Today, as well as her Instagram account. Earlier this week, Dreyer shared photos of her and Fichera, who joined her on a recent trip to the American Century golf championship in Lake Tahoe, Calif., writing, “One of the best parts of @acchampionship is all the fun that happens off the course! Boat rides, jersey swaps, connecting with friends and making new ones! Thanks for another great year!!”
Dreyer, Fichera, and their children all spent the Fourth of July holiday together as well. Dreyer, who hosts the Macy’s fireworks special for NBC, shared photos of the family smiling together, alongside the caption, “What an incredible night being a part of the @macys 4th of July fireworks show!!! Hope you all had an amazing 4th of July and enjoy the whole weekend!!”
Dreyer first joined NBC News in September 2012. Prior to that, since 2007, she worked at the now-former NBC station WHDH in Boston. Dreyer also hosts the NBC educational nature program Earth Odyssey with Dylan Dreyer, which airs as part of the The More You Know block on NBC.
