With awards season upon us—the Golden Globes are on Sunday—the months of star-studded Hollywood ceremonies ahead kicked off this week with the annual Palm Springs International Film Festival. Running until January 13, the California event will honor Mikey Madison (Anora), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing), Angelina Jolie (Maria), Nicole Kidman (Babygirl), and more—as well as honor buzzy films such as Conclave and Emilia Perez with special accolades.
Before the trophies are handed out, however, the Palm Springs red carpet will deliver some fashion heat. Compared to the Golden Globes or the Oscars, the Palm Springs Film Festival is a decidedly more low-key (and low-pressure) awards ceremony—giving stars an opportunity to take risks and experiment with their looks.
