Spirit Airlines Just Launched Nonstop Flights to Belize—With Fares Starting at $67

Travelers now have new options to visit Belize.

Spirit Airlines just launched new nonstop service between Belize City and Fort Lauderdale, according to the low-cost carrier. The flights, which took off for the first time on Nov. 21, are operated between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Belize’s Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

“Belize is a beautiful and adventure-packed getaway for travelers looking to explore diverse natural landscapes, historical sites and world-class water excursions at an unmatched value,” Andrea Lusso, Spirit’s vice president of network planning, said in a statement. “Adding Belize City to our international route map is a great win for our Guests, and we thank the airport and the community for such a warm welcome to this one-of-a-kind destination.”

Travel + Leisure spotted wide availability on the new route, with one-way fares to Belize starting as low as $67 in January 2026. Spirit offers several classes of service: Value, Premium Economy, and Spirit First (which includes the airline’s “Big Front Seat”). The carrier’s lowest cost option, Value, does not include a carry-on bag, checked luggage, or other amenities, which are available to purchase for an additional cost.

Anthony Mahler, Belize’s minister of tourism, youth, sports, and diaspora relations, said in a statement the new route “enhances our connectivity and offers more convenient travel options for both visitors and our diaspora.

“From our breath-taking natural beauty to our rich cultural experiences, there’s so much waiting to be discovered in Belize,” Mahler added. “Strengthening this link with Fort Lauderdale not only boosts travel to our shores but also deepens tourism ties between our destinations and paves the way for shared economic opportunities.”

Home to the UNESCO World Heritage-recognized Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System, the country offers everything from incredible all-inclusive resorts to adventures for outdoor enthusiasts like canoeing, caving, fishing, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, and more.

Last year, Belize welcomed more than 562,000 overnight visitors, according to the tourism boardsetting a new record for the country. This was a 21 percent increase compared to 2023 and an 11.8 percent increase compared to 2019.

The new route also marks the latest foray into international travel for Spirit. This month, the carrier similarly plans to start flying between Fort Lauderdale and Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands. The airline also operates flights to popular destinations like Aruba; Cancun, Mexico; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Lima, Peru; Kingston, Jamaica, and beyond.
